RIVER one of our favorite vendors is another victim of the economy.
They have taken a hiatus from production this year but we hope to see
them on the slopes again next season.
Welcome to the “Next Big Thing” in snowsports. Hailing
from the land that spawned snowboarding, only people from Vermont
could find a better way down a hill. The motto of our company says
it all “Get On Your Knees!” We have essentially created
a kneeboard for the snow.
Features
a quick release lap belt and kneepads that are designed for comfort and
performance. The kneeling position allows you to see ahead, lean for
balance and control steering. The plastic shells are made of a
virtually indestructible material.
The
advantage this sled has over all others is the ability to carve a turn.
This is possible because of two features. First, the nylon webbing lap
belt and thick foam pads hold the sled comfortably under the sledder,
freeing both hands for easy steering, balance and control. And second,
an ingenious design that incorporates double hard edged chines to dig
into hardpack along a central snow channel to aid the sled in tracking
through powder. So read your instructions and go have a blast on your
new Mad River Rocket! For 3" of powder or more, not packed trails or
ski areas. For safety reasons, please do not use in less than 3" of
soft powder. These sleds have no problems doing flips, barrel rolls,
and 360's off of small jumps. You can even use the rocket as a shovel
to build your jump.
Bow – Gunwales are raised at the bow to
protect against the intrusion of snow.
Rugged Plastic Hull – Radical hull design with parallel ribs that act like
wide skis to support the sled while moving through the snow. Plastic is
made of a virtually indestructible material.
Negative Keel – Enables riders to get a grip in powder,
allowing for sharp turns on steep slopes.
Knee pads – Cushion rider’s knees from bumps and
landings; kneeling position allows you to see ahead, lean for balance and control
steering.
Rocker – Sled is not flat, rounded rocker is essential
for precision steering.
Strap – Quick release lap belt secures the rider to the sled; tricks such
as inverted aerials can be performed. It also doubles as a sling allowing
the sled to be carried across the rider’s back.
Monorail – central channel constructs a monorail of packed
snow enhancing axial stability and enabling more precise steering.
Double edge chines – allows for a natural braking action and precision
steering.
Bolts – front bolts can be used to convert the sled into
a pulk; the Killer B Sled is used by mountaineering enthusiasts around the world.
